GLOSSARY

Here is a glossary of brooming terms.

Broadsword - a brooming throw that is released from behind the back or above the head

Broom - a long handled implement for throwing and occasionally sweeping.
  Parts of a broom:
    End - the tip of the broom shaft
    Head - the large part with the bristles
    Shaft - the long part of the broom that defines it (wood/metal/plastic)

Caibre - a throw in brooming.  the broom is held vertically in front by the tip and heaved upward

Doubles - a game in brooming where teams of two compete for points by feeds and throws

Feed - a handoff in a doubles match

Firepit - a game in brooming where players aim for a specific target on the ground

Grip - the method and style of holding the broom

Hammer - a throw in brooming. a stepping, spinning sidearm

Kegger - a throw in brooming.  held horizontally and thrown backwards over the head

Medely - a game in brooming where players use multiple throws to cross a terrain

Serve - a pass of the broom to someone else

Sidearm - a throw in brooming.  similar to swinging a baseball bat and then releasing

Spear - the basic throw in brooming.  thrown in a spear-like/javelin manner

Tomahawk - a.k.a. Broadsword

Windmill - a one-handed brooming throw.  similar to a softball pitch
